Academics have been given the topmost priority in indian education system but this has also led to minimal focus on games and sports. As a result of this our achievements in the international arena are not very spectacular. For developing great sportsmen in our country the training for different sports should start from early stage of students education. Just like academics are compulsory and are been the utmost importance, sports should also become compulsory from an early age. Playing Sports contributes to the overall development of a child by enhancing social skills, team building , building physical and mental strength etc. Its important that we give sports and games importance so that we can have better training for our athletes and engage more sportsperson and improve our country’s performance in international games.
