Through your esteemed column, I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities and aware citizens to the poor education system being followed in the rural areas.

I visited my native village with my grandparents. where I witnessed a few children of the age group 5–14 remaining at home. They were small and at the age of going to school, were working in the fields or simply loitering in the streets. The government has set up a school where the teachers visit every four days a week, but still, the children don’t want to go to school. In my opinion, educating parents about education is more important. Next, it will be easy to convince the children because they trust their parents more.
