Essay on The ultimate weapon is not a loaded gun but an educated mind

During one of his speeches in Boston, Nelson Mandela said,” “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” English author Edward Bulwer Lytton has also written, “Pen is mightier than the sword.” Both the above statements are correct in their true spirit. A sword or a loaded gun could be a destructive weapon, whose energy ends with loss and sacrifice and creates havoc in society. However, violence cannot change the views and beliefs of an individual, they will never bring long-lasting positive change in society. But education, on the other hand, has tremendous power to impact the planet. It’s the key to resolving all the issues. Words and writings make a long-lasting impact on one’s mind and have the ultimate power to mould their thinking and action in the right direction. It is easier to form the change by convincing people instead of imposing the identical on them. Education provides you the tools to fix the standard of life within the epoch both socially and economically.

Knowledge features a more significant influence than violence. Your new ideas can influence people which may bring long-lasting changes in society. To prove this point of view let us dig into the history and take examples from there. Who doesn’t know the names of great mighty rulers like Napoleon and Alexander? But what happened to their power of violence and destructive weapons, even after victory everything ended up within the void. But remember the wonderful teaching and powerful writings of authors and philosophers like Mahatma Gandhi, Vivekanand, Nelson Mandela, etc all who have everlasting impacts that live permanently within the minds of individuals even today. This is often the explanation why an intellectual is believed to rule the globe along with his writings, while a monarch can only rule his kingdom. This shows that the facility of words is far greater than those of bullets.

If you wish to achieve success and lead a dignified life then you would like to be educated. Education provides you with skills that, in turn, offer you more employment opportunities, enhance your earnings, and ultimately give you a prosperous, satisfied, and happy life. An informed person can guide people to the correct path in a good manner, and may come up with ideas to induce social equality, environmental sustainability, and improve political awareness. Education shows the importance of diligence and causes you to tune in to your rights, duties, rules, and regulations so that you’re empowered to serve society in an exceedingly better way. Knowledge may be a great and influential thing when shared with good intent and purpose. Knowledge can sometimes act as a weapon too because if it’s shared without regard for the results of its release, it is often more destructive than any storm or more devastating than any blow. Therefore, you’ll conclude that “The ultimate weapon isn’t a loaded gun but an educated mind.
