Dear Sir,
I am Ashok Singhal, a regular reader of XYZ newspaper. I was extremely impressed with one of the articles on intolerance in yesterday’s newspaper. How XYZ had honestly put up the views was commendable. It was like words given to every Indian’s thoughts.
It has been correctly highlighted that most of the issues of intolerance in India are due to political instability among the leaders of different parties aiming to pull each other down rather than lifting up the nation.
Excessive use of social media and tampering with the data is causing intolerance among people because most of the time only one side of the stories and incomplete information are posted, which is far, far away from the truth. This has divided the urban middle in a particular manner.
Issues highlighted in the article were a clear reflection of intolerance of religion and tradition caused when XYZ gave a beef Ban Honour killing example and JNU issue where Kanhaiya Kumar was taking his political plunge. I completely agree with XYZ on this one.
Perfect tolerance does not exist and it should not be for the betterment of all, but overreaction has become a norm now. With easy access to everyone through social media platforms, it has become easy to brainwash people easily.
I agree with XYZ that intolerance has always existed and always will, but the intention should be beneficial. That’s where we can bring about some positive changes in our country.
Looking forward to many more articles like this one.
Thanking You,
Mr. Ashok
