Subject: Awareness of new guidelines by Supreme Court.
Dear Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed newspaper I would like to draw the attention of the general public towards the new guidelines issued by the Supreme Court in matters of road accidents.
Unfortunately, accidents are a common phenomenon in big cities. It is very common that whenever there is a road accident people are reluctant to come to the rescue because of fear of harassment by the police.
On the brighter side according to the new guidelines by the Supreme Court people who take road victims to the hospital will not be questioned or detained. Now, there is no reason why bystanders/passerby should hesitate to help road victims and thus discharge their duty as responsible citizens. The general public must be made aware of these updated guidelines and urge them to help people in distress.
Thanking you
Shobha Narang
