Dear Sir,

Through the column of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to throw light on the ill-treatment meted out to stray dogs at the hands of callous and indifferent people.

Due to the increasing population of stray dogs and lack of food, dogs are sometimes out of control and due to hunger attack humans.

There are several cases where people mercilessly throw stones, kick them and beat them with sticks/rods to death. It is highly inhuman to act like this towards any animal. 

Municipal corporations and dog catchers should come together and protect them by keeping them in a safe place where they can get food, shelter and protection. 

Moreover, families who are not able to take care of their pet dogs leave them on road. They should hand them over to another family who can take proper care of them. 

Hope I could reach the reader’s heart and sensitize them to act humanly with stray dogs.
