Essay on advantages and disadvantages of fast food
The mouth-watering smell of something being fried, steamed, and served with hot sauce is now on every second street in India. The flavoured spice food joints serving fast food have enveloped the market as you get Gol Gappa, chow mien, momo, etc. at every corner of the streets. Be it in scorching heat or thunderstorms, these stalls are still standing there under the protection of their plastic hampers made by themselves. There are days when we plan on devouring these street delicacies, and then there are days when they are just very inviting.
But however tempting it is to us, it has its own set of advantages and disadvantages apart from savouring our tastebuds and working as a therapy for many. It has been advised by all the doctors, be it of any speciality, to avoid fast food at any cost. Fast food is also known as junk food in many places, which rightly signifies its reality. It is rightly called “Junk” when it is cooked in used burnt oil and served with pollution. Fast food affects the human body in many negative ways. It is harmful to the body in several severe ways. Fast food has the advantage of being easily available to everyone and being cheap and pocket-friendly for many. But because of these certain advantages, it also faces some negative ways like the urge to be available at every place at any time; it restricts the cook of joints to cooking food faster and with certain spices to attract a crowd. The cheap rates of these fast food joints also result in ingredients being cheap and unsafe for many. Many joints use the same oil they previously used to fry several times, which makes it extremely unhealthy for our hearts. The cheap products used aren’t safe and are not even certified by the food department. These small things affect our bodies in several negative ways. The cook also uses certain spices or ingredients which enhance the taste of food and, at times, have the motive of making it addicting to many. Small ingredients like Ajinomoto directly harm our bodies. Doctors are extremely concerned by what is happening around them as the price of chole bhature is getting cheaper day by day, which means it is getting more harmful to our bodies and has low-quality ingredients.
People should avoid fast food and have it only occasionally or at times when they don’t have any other options left. Regular eating of it will indeed harm your stomach, but in the long term, it will affect both your lungs and body in ways we cannot even diagnose. This problem cannot be dealt with in the long run because when you are eating junk food, you are hampering your body and treating it as a bin. If we do not respect our body, we cannot expect it to work correctly.
