Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August. On this day in 1947, India got freedom from the British rule of 200 years.
The Prime Minister of India unfurls the tricolour Indian flag at Red Fort in New Delhi followed by the National Anthem and parade by ground forces. The day is marked by remembering our great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmibai and many more.
The Flag is hoisted in schools, colleges, offices, social clubs, etc. Several cultural programs are organized to mark the importance of Independence Day. It is celebrated by every Indian irrespective of religion, culture and traditions. Plays, skits, patriotic songs, speeches, dances, quizzes, and several other activities are planned to educate our youths about the hardships faced to achieve independence. This awareness helps us to value our freedom even more.
One day is not enough to pay homage to the sacrifices our brave freedom fighters made. We should do our best to uplift India on all possible platforms and take the legacy forward. Jai Hind!
