A good friend should not talk ill about you behind your back, he or she should criticize you on your face for your betterment only. A selfish friend, however, indulges in false praise and slackness that eventually breaks the friendship.
Last but not the least, friendship is also beyond a particular age boundary. The mark of true friendship is respect. Even if there is a disagreement between you and your friend, your arguments should never cross the limits of mutual respect. You can only become a good friend if you are polite, honest, and true to your friend. You should be ready to sacrifice your ego to nurture friendship. The persons having good and trustworthy friends are indeed lucky because friendship is one of the most prized possessions.
