Essay on Unity in Diversity – Often Discussed, Rarely Practiced
India is a land of rich heritage and culture. By culture, we mean that India is so diverse in nature. One can easily find that in India, one can celebrate so many festivals, starting from Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Puja, Pongal, Onam, Eid-ul-Fitr, Holi, Guru Purnima and what not. So, in one word India is a land of diversity.
But are we united when it comes to practising? If it is not true, then why the politicians who come to ask for a vote during the elections, why do they manipulate the common man in the name of God? If we have been fighting to achieve independence from the white people for over 100 years, what have we got in the end? Are we still free?
Actually, before independence, we all had been a puppet in the hands of the Britishers and after getting independence, we still are a puppet in the present scenario. Nothing has changed at all. Politicians mainly try to divide everyone in the name of caste, creed and religion. We can only win against them if and only if, we stand together united and love each other.
We are lucky to be born as Indians because this is the only region in the world which follows each and every religion. India has 29 states having their own language and culture, yet it does not have a mother tongue. Tell me, which country in the world has such unique diversity?. Since it is diverse in nature, we can easily mix up with so many cultures and can learn languages too. We must be proud of ourselves. So, we should love each other and humanity. In this way, India is a land of rich diversity.
